I just bought a new car and it came with its own laptop with DSMLINK V2. I have no idea where to start with tuning or getting it running correctly. If someone could steer me in the right direction to get started I would appreciate it. I have read about DSMLINK but have not found any helpful insight, just thought I would get a little user info. Thanks ahead of time :thumb:

Well, your first start should be reading the manual over a few times and get used to the interface. DSM link is just about as straigh foward as you can get for a tunning tool. Of course your going to need to understand the basics of timming and fuel adjustments. dsmlink.com is a good place to start, along with the forums on there.

thanks for the quick reply,
by manual, do you mean the car's manual or dsmlink manual? I have a basic understanding of timing/fuel/knock.......all the good stuff, I just really dont know who to work it while in the car. Ill check out dsmlink.com. Thanks for the input, if you have anymore it would be great to hear.

in manual, I ment the DSM Link manual. It tells ya all of the basic features of dsmlink and what you can do with it. The manual is on dsmlink.com as well.

Thanks

I will check it out and if I have anymore question I will post, your help is much appreciated. :dsm:

I went to dsmlink.com and tried to download the user guide, however, my computer wont let me.....ahhh. Is there some kind of link or directions someone could send me with the guide or directions? Thanks

dang computers.......

The manual is also on the DSMLink CD that the software is on. It is in the doc folder on the CD.

Ok tell me what you would like to know so we can get you started. Are you driving the car now when we get the f-ing snow back or no

When you bought the car did they register you with DSM Link?

DSM Link has a help forum that is available to registered users and if you have a legit copy of DSM link the previous owner should notify DSM Link and they would register you as the new owner. Then you would have access to the DSM Link forums.

Once registered you could go here and get all the help you need.

set your injector size and dead time correctly, remembering to take into account changes in base fuel pressure that you may have made via AFPR if you have one.

from there, cruise should tune itself if you got that stuff right.

for WOT, tune the fuel until you have a good AFR curve you like.

After you have the AFR curve desired, adjust timing for maximum without knock at desired boost level.

If the previous owner didn't register the dsmlink to you then just email the admins on the dsmlink forums and get it switched. You'll need to look at the number on your dsmlink chip to give it to them, to make sure that its not a pirated version. I had to go through all of this when i bought my car.
