there is a thread under tuning that starts with "is anyone else having problems with keydiver chip"

check that out before making your decision on buying one. I'll put it this way. the chip is giving me soo many problems with phantom knock (no problems before) that I ordered DSM LINK for it.

Did you know you can get Phantom Knock code? You need to ask for it in the comments section when you order the chip. The phantom knock code lets the ECU ignore all knock when cruising at part throttle, which is when knock doesn't matter. The ECU will still respond normally to any knock that happens at WOT, so you can tune normally.

Some bowsers may not be able to find "dsmchips.com" You have to add in the "WWW." works every time for me.
www.dsmchips.com
or try his other name
www.keydiverchips.com
same site, different name.

That's correct. I had Jeff burn me another chip with custom timing maps and Phantom Knock code among other things. He did it for free, and my car runs awesome. 23 psi on pump gas 92 oct. NO KNOCK ISSUES what so ever. You should have just emailed him and asked him about it and he would have taken care of it I am sure. :thumb:

I have a 90 eprom ecu for sale on ebay. :) Its still available.

Im ordering my keydiver ecu soon. This gm maf+safc and big injectors just isnt cutting it. I'm always having to screw with something. Plus, I think stutterbox is badass.

:| Hmmm Ignore knock during normal driving and preset a certain percentage of timming at wot , so even if the car does knock the timming could still be pulled as it would normally to safe gaurd the motor?

Interesting but how do you know what the optimal amount of timming should be at wot?

Yup, that's right.

I'm not sure if anyone can say with 100% certainty what the optimal timing is at each rpm point at WOT since each car is so different. I can say with certainty that the stock timing maps on a 1G will have timing drop as the engine goes above 6k rpm, even without knock. With a nearly stock motor and stock boost, that's OK. But as the power goes up, and the ability to make good power above 6k rpm improves, the stock timing map becomes more and more of a hinderance. Setting the timing to 20 degrees may not be optimal, either, but at least it's consistant, and it gives me a great starting point. Plus the CAS and SAFC can still be used for fine tuning.

i have read the whole thread and i am going to be ordering me one.... i have a few q's first tho

what is high speed loop thingy????

what does a/c cut out do??? make it so a/c doesnt work???

ryan

hmm i guess i dont need that since i am ripping out the ac anyway LOL... ow why i am on the a/c subject does anyone know where i can order a built that is shorter so you dont run it around the a/c compressor????

ryan

damit i just tore out my ecu and if has no eprom im pissed can i still get a dsmchip to work with my non eprom ecu??? the dsmchip site sadi any ecu upgrade for a non erpom ecu will contain a motherboard which will plug into the microcontroller....

ryan

Hope so, I ordered mine last week. :thumb:

I am running his chip with 750cc inj comp, adjustable stutter box, no lift to shift, 950 idle, etc on my daily driver with no problems at all. This is actually my 3rd upgrade chip and I have been very happy with his service and quality. I highly reccomend Jeff O at www.dsmchips.com :thumb:
