Hows it going Dsmers, I just recently bought a 1990 Laser Rs. Im excited to join the dsm club and was wondering what should be the first things I should tune up. The previous owner told me it was sitting for about 3 months. Its 100% stock and has about 157,000 miles. Need Help thanks ! :)

Change all fluids, including the nasty gas in the tank.
Boost leak test, fix leaks.
Timing belt kit.
Eliminate the balance shaft.
New tires. brake pads.

Anything else that looks worn out.

Laser RS Non/Turbo, right?

With that many miles I would sure hope that the timing belt has been changed. Ask the previous owner if you can. Even if it has been once, it's about time to do it again so I'd look into that. It's expensive but it the belt goes it becomes even more expensive. Also while your in there you should change the water pump.

Also the basic stuff, change the oil and filter, check the air filter, change the fuel filter, spark plugs, and spark plug wires. Check for oil leaks to make sure your gaskets and seals are all good.

Thats about it for the basics, hope this helps.

timing belt, and all associated components (timing belt tensioner, all the pulleys, balance shaft belt, etc)
water pump while youre in there. spark plugs, plug wires, boost leak test, fuel filter, air filter....thats all the stuff i did to mine when i first got it...
TCK 167 from gates should be fine for you if you dont want some super uuber jdm colored t-belt
