I have been reading a lot about the early Talons and see that they come with lots of problems and failures, but i havent seen to many complaints about the 2nd gen. talons. Are the 2nd gens built better? Do they have less problems? I am looking at buying a talon soon, let me know if the 2nd gens are more reliable. Thanks.

This pretty much goes for all cars, but I will say it anyway. First, the 1Gs are older then the 2Gs - naturally they will have more problems. Also, it may seem like these are problematic cars because of all the threads you see about problems people have. But people aren't gonna make a thread about "My car didn't break down on the way to work" they will say "I was driving to work and something started ticking - help!"! What I'm saying is while reading the forums all you see is the problems the cars have. Now back to the question, "are 2nd gens built better". Here's the thing about 2Gs - this BAD thing called crankwalk, 1Gs is (mostly) unaffected, it's rare for a 1G to walk (knock on wood!!!). But 2Gs are naturally gonna have less problems, they are newer then 1Gs. Now I'm going with a 1G Eclipse GSX/Talon TSi AWD (whichever I can find), hopefully a 1990-early 1992. Money aside (I could afford a 2G if I HAD to), I chose to look at 1st gens cause the engines are built stronger (IMO), and don't have issues with crankwalk. Also 1st gens have a bigger turbo stock. I don't wanna spend all the money on a 2G just to later on have to swap in a 1G engine if it walks, or to swap in a bigger turbo if I want more power (well eventually I'll need more power then stock can provide but the 1G stock turbo can satisfy my speed addiction for a while ;)). So basically, no 1Gs aren't built worse, they are actually built better (in my opinion). They are just older! Good luck with the new ride though!

dont mess with it... it wont break its that simple.
ANY CAR you mess around with will be less reliable. your prob reading about modded cars and there probs.
