dsm logger help please

I have the dsm logger and the mmcd on a palm m100. Anytime I try to log with dsm logger....it tells me to check my connection. With the mmcd it looks like it trys to log for a few seconds then stops( same thing as trying to long with the palm diconected.) So I did and all the connections are fine. I have tried with another hotsync cable also and it says the same thing. The serial cable seems to be plugged in right. Theres a green wire in pin 1, yellow in pin 10, and black in pin 12. I'm not sure if thats how it's supposed to be or not(the cable came with the car.) Any one have any ideas?
Also...this is on a 92 awd laser.

Actually. First it didn't work, then I ran a wire from the black one to the yellow one and it worked. I tried again later, and I noticed to wire that I put on the other two fell off....but it still worked.Maybe one of the wires inside the connector was loose or something. Owell it works so I'm happy
