I've tried posting in the tuning section, but nobody ever responds... I have a 93 Talon TSi AWD and I'm trying to use a Treo 90 with it. People have used this PDA before and it works fine. But I can't get it to work. I'm running the latest version of MMCd, and have tried Palmstein too. I've tried 3 entirely different logger cables, 2 different serial sync cables (oem and ebay cheapie) but get the same error message every time. I try to log and nothing comes up, if I go to the test option in MMCd and hit read to get the codes all it says is "Serial comm error". What the f*ck am I doing wrong? I seriously need to get this thing working, I just installed a completely new fuel system and bigger turbo, fmic etc and have been trying to get this to work for the past 3 months. Could my OBDI port be fried somehow?? Bah!

Your OBD-I port could be fried, but more likely you either just have it installed wrong or the wires are bad/shorted somewhere.

Do you have the one with the three spade connectors, or the one that takes up the whole port? If you have spade connectors, how is it set up?

Have you tried making sure all the wiring behind the connector is in good shape?

I have two, one is just 3 cables, the other is a full port that I bought from the company that makes the cables for dsmparts.com. I doubt the cable itself is bad, the ABS light comes on like it's supposed to when the ecu is in diagnostics mode but it doesn't turn off like it should when the pda is connected.

Not yet, I don't know a whole lot of dsmers where I'm at. A bud of mine is gonna come by tomorrow with his palm III tho, gonna give that a shot and see how it does. If that works, great, I'll just buy a palm and sell my treo. But I like my treo more than any of the palms I've had before, the built in keyboard is very convenient. Oh well. I just want to be able to tune my friggin car, LOL.

You know, I had the same problem, and I finally fixed it by getting a null modem connector. Once I hooked up the null modem connector, MMCd fired right up.

You can get the modem connector from Radio Shack.

I'm running the latest version of 4.1, updated about a month ago from Palm's site.

94EclipseGST, what connectors does your null modem cable have? The end of my logger cable is male, and the end of my sync cable is female... So I'd need a female to male cable. I'll look into it tomorrow, thx for the tip!

My null modem connector was female/female. The connector at the end of my datalogger cable is male, and the other end from my hotsync cable was male also.
