Anyone know anything about it? I hear it will be able to run a GM MAF without a translator, is that true? Any other info on it (when it may be coming out etc...)? I am holding back on my purchase to see what V3 is all about.

It is my understanding that you will be able to download any changes to your current setup, sort of like what they did with 2.5.

Does any body know when it will be availble for purcashe? Iam nearing the end of my build and will be in the marked for one soon. No sense in buying a older version with this one on the horizon.

Not quite true.

Version 3 will be completely different. Anyone upgrading their current V2.5 setup will most likely send their current chip to the DSMLink guys where it will be destroyed, and they will be issued a new chip for a small upgrade fee (probably in the $200 range).

It's pretty much the same process used with any software upgrade....if you're using Final Cut Pro on a Mac for video editing and they release a new version, you send all of your discs in to Apple and they send you the new program for one third the price that a new customer would pay.

Yes, there will be GM MAS compensation on V3 with no need for a Translator. You'll probably have to buy a special chipped cable from DSMLink to replace the Translator (converts your MAS plug to work with the GM MAS), but I'm not expecting it to cost as much as a Translator does.

There's a 40-page thread discussing V3 on the DSMLink forums.

I was simply putting the information out there in case someone was reading the thread and thinking the same thing.

I find it so funny that you're a proven member.
