i recently bought a 95 gst. it had a 20g turbo, 660's, exhaust, and dsm link. im not familiar with dsm link at all. it also had a bad motor, and the previous owner told me that the dsm link said that the MAS was bad. so i bought a used MAS off ebay, rebuilt the motor, put a t25 on it, and put the stock injectors on it. well we put everything together and started it up, it idles a little rough kind of like it has cams, but it doesnt. i know this because i put the head together. now. i pulled the car out of the yard to test it out and as soon as i get the car rolling and put the slightest amount of load, just enough to accelerate, the car starts breaking up, like above 2000 rpm. the dsm link hasnt been touched, so im wondering if the difference in injector size would make this much of a difference. or is it likely to be something else. i dont think that the MAS is bad because the car idles fine. please help me so i can start breaking this motor in. Also, i want to sell the car as a smooth running car, so i wanted to take the dsm link off of the car. i was wondering if any 2g turbo ecu will work in this car. thanks :thumb:sorry its soooo long!

if you have the stock injectors/mas in then go to the Fuel menu and make sure that the Deadtime and Global settings are at 0 for both of them. Also make sure in the ariflow table its set up for a 2g mas (which it should by default). Then you can go back to the fuel menu and the timing menu and make sure everything is zero'd out (fuel and timing adjustment sliders). After you do all of this, your ecu will be back to stock configuration for the injectors and turbo. If it had an upgraded turbo and fuel, im assuming that the pump/ regulator were upgraded as well, so you can check to make sure that you are running stock fuel pressure (43.5 psi).

Once you do all of this, go out for a spin and see if everything feels good. You can log it as well and if something is wrong, try posting up the log on dsmlink forums to get further advice. everything i said to do is to get the car back to the stock ecu configuration, to run correctly with the stock mas/injectors/turbo.

Hope this helps bro!

hey this kinda sounds like what happended to my 1g when the ecu had bad capacitors. look into it, i know 2g are newer so this does not happen as often, but i bet it does still happen. rip the ecu out and check, very easy.
hope this helps

the car actually has the stock fpr, but it does have an upgraded pump. but, i have to download the software into a laptop and take it to the car. oh yeah, where is the diagnostic port in a 2g, is it under the steering wheel like a 1g? i looked but i didnt see it there? thanks

This guy nailed it!

The port your looking for is right under the drivers side dash, to the right of the steering wheel. When your sitting in your car its basically right above or in front of your right knee. Oh and about the fuel pump it would be good to know which one is in there. If its the 190 or something similar you should be fine with not overrunning the stock fpr, any pump larger you will need an afpr to get the base fuel pressure back to where it needs to be.

Both right on the money :thumb:

As for the ecu, std, auto, awd or fwd doesn't matter but you will want one from a 95-96 as the 97-99's had an inverted CAS signal.

thanks guys, i put the bigger injectors back in without changing anything else, and the car seems to run fine now. i havent really got on it yet because im breaking it in right now.

one other thing, is it normal for 2g's to have really low oil pressure? at idle, its gotta be like 5psi or something. i even put a new pump when i rebuilt the motor. thanks
