Dropping the battery lower. Anyone?

thats a huge ugly air filter, I wouldnt worry about the overflow looking bad...Holy molies

Im sure it serves its purpose though :)

Lol thats a first of hearing that, usually people are in awe how big it is, its a brand new K&N 12" Filter, it was $70 by the time it was shipped. I like it and it surely flows thats for sure. I like how it fills the air filter spot completely.

I still have my a/c its a bit tighter than I like. But I have room to make it smaller if I do not use the factory Plastic tray I can shrink it by 3/4"-1/2" in width and an inch more more in length. I have to get pics of the mounting. I also need to raise this one up a little bit(EDIT: it can not be raised so I have notched it slightly for the mount now it works great).

Yes the canister was removed. I also chose to move the wring around a bit for my slight tuck.

So this first try was a success but I need to make some slight improvements.

What size battery do you have? I set my stock battery down on the sub-frame and the battery was hitting the transmission but I was using a different orientation.. Do you still have A/C? Also what did you do with the wire harness that sits on top of the sub-frame? When I sat my battery down that way I was unhappy with the battery being only half supported.

I have the pics of the mounting. It uses the 2 bolt holes for the canister and the 2 for the factory battery tray bracket.

I have the Odyssey PC680, no A/C, I have a 4" thick front mount and was having cooling issues on the stock 7bolt when it was in there, now with the new turbo setup the manifold didn't allow for 2 fans so they are now pushers in where the condenser used to be.

I test fitted my first version and was having a bit of movement that you were describing. I made a spacer for the drivers side and put a plate similar to the top play and pushed the j bolts up through it, sat the batter on and put the top plate on. Its very firm with no movement and was simple to make plus cheap, just old aluminum stock that I polished and the $3 J bolts from Walmart from in their battery section.

As for the wiring harness its pushed up right below the front pass brake line.

I would get pictures buts it way to cold out side to be unhooking that thing.

Yes, but that's not a stock sized battery. I'm talking about just taking the "stock" battery and dropping it down low so that you don't HAVE to buy another battery. Heck if that were the case, my JMF battery kit would've done just fine.

Yes, but the quote makes no mention of a stock-sized battery either. Additionally, the thread went the way of non-stock sized batteries. You would be right if you said it's impossible with a stock battery but possible with the right sized battery. Additionally it would work even in cold weather based on the battery ratings, unlike your JMF battery.

As far as I've seen, there's no one with a 2G battery on the subframe with an intact and functional AC system, thus the rationale behind my post.
