Well, today coming home from work, my drivers side window stopped working. The passenger side window and door locks still work from the drivers side controls but the driver side window is dead. I do not hear the motor going or struggling so should I start by checking the fuses? Also where are they located? What else should I check besides the fuse? Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

First check the fuses, the window fuse should be down by your clutch pedal but if not then under the hood, if that fails then i would take off the door panel and remove the switch and motor and see if theres something wrong, and give it a good cleaning also.

Ok, I check the fuse in the engine compartment, and their fine. Check the relays and 12V power source underneath the dash for the power windows and their fine (I swap out one of the 12v source into the other and for both, the passenger side window works but not the drivers side window so it not the relays or 12v source. Check all wires around the window motors and nothing seems to be loose. So I think it's either the motor or the driver side switch (controls), but the thing is, everything on the switch (controls) works besides the driver side window up/down. How do I get access to the power window motors? There is no space to get to them and since my windows are stuck up, the motor is hard to reach? Thanks,

Just to update, I found a blown fuse (10) on the power window tray and I replaced it but the driver side window still doesn't work. The weird thing is, I checked the volts of the control switch and everytime I pushed a button, the voltage would drop (passenger window, passenger window lock, etc) and when I pushed the driver side window, the volts don't drop?! I also swapped out the control switch with my friends gsx and the driver side window still doesn't work! So im thinking it the motor. What does everyone else think?

Ok just to update in case someone else out there runs into the same problem, my driver side window motor was blown. How did I come to that conclusion? I bought another motor and plug in to the harness and it works! Now, how do I get access to the old motor to swap it out? Remember, my window is stuck up and I can barely reach the motor, Any suggestions?

I had the exact same problem, except i had replaced the motor and switch. Everything works fine....the top, the back quarter windows and the passenger window.....the only thing that doesnt work is the drivers window...anyway...i have taken out the regulator/motor several times so try to follow.....take off the door panel, disconnect the switch etc.. there should be 3 main mount bolts that connect the regulator to the door frame, take those out (you might need a buddy to hold the glass while doing this) to the left of that there are 2 more bolts that hold in the stationary arm (pivot point) take those out too. Now that the regulator/motor is totally disconnected from the door frame the window should come down far enough to remove the nuts that secure the glass to the regulator. Take off those 2 nuts and the regulator will come off pretty easily. The motor is attached to the regulator by 3 screws. You will need a torque bit to take these out and a small 1/4" drive ratchet. Feel around on the back of the motor to locate the screws. once you take out those screws you are done and you can slip out the regulator/motor with a little bit of finnagling.

just a quick question... Where did you get a new switch! i need one really bad my window is stuck down and i know its not the motor because the winow went down with the convertable top. and when i try to open the drivers side window all i hear is a pop sound in the switch, And nothing in the motor!!!

Well i found out that everything that has to do with the window works perfectly. That was'nt where the problem was....the problem was in the factory alarm system that came with the car. Underneath the radio inside the center console there is an alarm control module... i forgot what serial numbers were on it. i had a melted wire that controlled the windows with the remote. The far left or far right one depending on wich way you look at it. I removed that wire (dont know exactly where it went) and i just took the power wire from the window motor and straight shot it to the same position that the other wire was in. And BAM my window started working fine. Hope that helps and that i didint confuse you too much. PM me if you need clairification.
