I’ve been having door handles break way to often and I’ve seen metal door handles that was custom made for $250.00 but I was thinking 🤔 why not just use jb-weld putty to support the plastic door handles. Maybe this help someone save time and money!

I absolutely hate our door handles. Definitely in the top 3 worst things about these cars. I'm either on my 3rd or 4th driver handle, and 2nd passenger handle. I can almost tell when they're about to break... no matter how gentle I am with it. It's quite sad honestly because it's not my daily driver.

Are you guys buying new OEM handles or those cheap parts store ones? I tries the cheap handles and they don't compare to oem. Even oem aren't great but mine went more than 15 years before needing attention.
Of course Tony's metal units are the best solution.

First replacement I tried was a parts store handle. Didn't last a year. Since then I've been going with OEM, either from junkyard or online. Didn't know they still produced them new.

I'm not sure. I did mine awhile back. Don't really remember when.

The only Oem I’ve seen is for the driver side door on stmtuned and according to the site, the passenger side door handle is discontinued.

This is exactly what we as a community should be trying to get away from! Doing these janky mod/repairs when there is an option that fixes it permanently and supports a community member. I get it, the $250 price tag is hefty but in the long run after your 4th-5th time changing the handles (because we know how easy they are to do), you will think that $250 is worth every penny.
