2G Door Handles Help! [Merged 11-7] broke broken eBay replacement repair handle outside

Well, I got a handle off my cousins white 95 GS with 130,000 miles on it... Unfortunatly he rolled it a few months back so its a parts car now. Looks like ill be having it painted and then put on by mitsu. considering there is no way in #### ill be able to put this handle in w/o breaking every clip to remove the old one. it took me a good hour just to remove the one off my cuzs car. Oh well $10 ya cant beat that... now for paint and labor.

A ton of us have already been there. Me included, I broke mine in July and have yet to replace it. I have the replacement handle, just haven't put it on yet. You can pick em up either at a dealer for a high price or through here on the classifieds or on EBay, which is where I got mine. If you don't wanna replace it yourself they'll probably charge you around $100 to do the install. Hope that helps.

HAHA it did that to me too. I put out the hundred and something dollars for a new piece at the dealership. It wasn't too hard to change it out, you just need small hands to connect the linkages again. Overall I say you can do it in a hour.

mine broke a while back. It was $75 from the dealership for a new handle. I delt with it for a while then found one on ebay for $40 and did it myself. It was a PITA but I followed the the directions in the tech section and it worked.

hey guys....

i just though i would make a post about something i am working on. i have the prototype set of these on my girls 2g for testing.

replacement aluminum door handles so they stop breaking!

i plan on selling these in the near future but here is a teaser for now....

I gotta ask. Is this something that only happens in cold environments? I've had my car for 2 years and never had a problem with the door handles. There are tons of guys here that have 2G's as well with no handle problems.

new pics.... we had freezing rain here thismorning... i had to pull really hard with 2 hands to open the door... about breaking the glass off... but the handles held strong!
