Does this sound like a bad ecu?

Ok, so while I was driving yesterday, the motor completely shut down and wouldn't start back up.
I first thought fuel pump, but when I sprayed carb cleaner into the manifold, nothing. So this showed me no spark as well. When I tested the fuel pump, I found no voltage, and when I pulled the spark plug wires out and cranked it, no spark from the spark.
When I ran a computer diagnostic, it gave me an error message saying it couldn't link to the computer.
I then tested the power wire I used for my a/f guage off the ecu with a 12v test light, and found no power as well.

So my question is, does it seem like the ecu went to shits, or is there something else wrong? (say the wiring harness went bad or something)

Check for 12v with key-on at the ecu plug.
Do your windows/wipers and such still work?

Does the car crank when you try to start it or is it completely dead? Did you check the battery cables for corrosion, splits or any lack of connection?

Some features work like the lights and wipers. But some things like my windows and sunroof don't.

The car cranks over and there's no corrosion on the battery. (Made sure of that and always keep the battery clean). And I havnt seen any split wires or anything like that.

Quite possible the ECU is bad. I would pull the ECU and open it up, look for any discolorations in the solder connections, burnt traces or a burnt or ozone smell.

check all your fuses as well

Given that you have other electical problems I'd solve them first. It doesn't sound like your ECU is even turning on. That could be from the MPI fuse or one of the ignition fuses.

Once you get to the point where everything else in the car is working and you don't get a CEL for 5 seconds when you turn the ignition on I'd pull the ECU.

Well my car did almost the same thing but it did it about three times and it was the ecu
