i want to see.
Sometimes a larger inlet doesn't help.
We put a T04S cover that I had laying around on Dave's old G60 and it surged like a bi*** around 22psi where the T04E cover which came on the turbo did not. I don't know what it was, but the 60-trim Garrett compressor did not like the S cover's 4" inlet.
I would agree with Andrew, but here's what Romeen had to say.

I just opened the diameter of the outlet and extended that down into the neck of the compressor outlet a couple of inches. Don't go too big on the outlet. Leave enough material to allow a good seal with the j-pipe.
in conclusion to my porting. The car pulls much harder at 11 psi than a 14b, and i hear the turbo sucking the air in much more than the 14b.
Any logs? Or is that just facts from your butt dyno?
. my center diff is f-ed up so i dont drive it much. i will post a log if i ever get my trans right. my car is eating center diffs and not sure why.It still has the sticker that say 3.545 on the rear lsd. And I pulled it out of one of my own cars. The transmission however came out of who knows what. i read the trans code on it and was similar to my other dsm trans. ill send the numbers to jack next thing.Just a tip on the center diff. Make sure you don't have an auto trans rear differential in the car. It happened to my 90 gsx back in the day. Easy way to tell is if your speedo is off by five to 10mph. Or just pull the rear cover and count the teeth.
RipperXX said:Wait, did you switch from a 14b to a small 16g? and port the 16g as well? Just asking what your comparing, same turbo unported vs ported or what?
except that i can hear it sucking in air much louder than my 14b.
. Im lending my 14b to a friend, i put 25 miles on that turbo after i rebuild it. i guess this thread was kind of pointless.
