Does putting k/n filter mess up idle 1 week later

Put on K/N filter last week, also took off plate behind headlight cut opening larger, and put some holes in that box under wheel well. Did not hack can. One week later idle surge 1500 rpms to 2000rpms so checked ISC ohms at 30 or 32 tried 2 others from junk yard same problem. Pulled green wire off top side of throttlebody and surge stopped but still idle at 1100 rpms no surge. Looked at BISS was all the way down tried to take out but went up to top but wont pull out. Thinking of taking off throttle body and cleaning and getting new BISS and o-ring cause I dont see one on top of screw. Gonna mess with it this weekend after that need to fing good DSM mechanic in palm beach area.Any expert advice or ideas.

Are you referring to the charcoal canister? If so I'd not modify it instead just remove it altogether and plug up the vac lines and hose inlet to the intake.

Check for any intake leaks btw the MAS and Throttle body. My guess is a vacume line popped off somewhere when doing the K&N install.

in the 1.8 liter the mass air flow sensor is in the intake cap how the hell can i put my cold air on 1.8 liter crap im swapping it some anyway but in the meantime i was wondering

No not the charchol canister. Tried to mod to get more air in the intake can. The bottom snorkel of air can goes down into plastic box underneath it. Checked for vac leaks. Have to look at it more. Just wondering if anyone else had a similar event after putting in k/n
