Hey guys I've been searching a bunch and can't seem to find any for sale and don't want to or really need a mil spec harness. My question is does anybody know someone who maybe refurbishes 1g engine harnesses?

I read the post from a while back with a few guys saying KidTsi would refurbish them but when I went to his page there was abunch of post calling him a scammer and what not LOL .

The thing about ‘refurbishing’ a harness is that the connectors are all 25-30 year old plastic that has turned brittle, and the wiring may have shorts from exposed conduit, corrosion, and their own brittle material. Wiring isn’t rocket science, it’s just tedious work that takes hours to do. You could do the same job with basic tools by going though the harness wire-by-wire, replace the wires and connectors that need to go, and put it all back together.

Okay thanks for the reply Canadian_CD9A I've watched a few of jafromobiles videos on 4g63 engine harness. I'm guessing remaking one is my best bet

It’ll take a minute to do but Jafro’s video is an excellent example of starting from scratch. I’m still missing some connectors but I’ll be referencing his videos whenever I get the chance to start on mine LOL

Just imagine how much that would cost to have someone do it for you and when you're done you still have a 90% or better set of "old" wire and connectors.

They way I see it is you only want to touch a wiring harness once. You don’t want to spend weeks, yes weeks, figuring out the diagrams, buying the tools, crimping everything, realizing you screwed a bunch of stuff up then redoing it only to finally turn your car on and there is some weird gremlin guy can’t figure out. The wiring harness is the nervous system of the car, and the chances of your first harness being equal to a professionally done harness is unlikely.

Well the harness does still work because the car ran and drove when I pulled the engine! It's just in rough shape and the previous owner hacked it and tapped wires in here and there and did a poor job, so I was hoping to just start fresh.

Just fix broken stuff re tape it. Clean it up and install it I have 10 here I've reworked got one good one im fixing up.
