do I need dsm link?

Just build the motor for my 90 talon .. never done a boosted car before also not to up to par on computer tuning .. so I guess what I need to know is based on the changes made do I need this "dsm link"??? I plan on running a stock turbo for now really have quite. A few questions buf figureIill start here

Not enough information to tell you if it is NECESSARY.. But most of us will tell you that it one of the most beneficial things for our cars, even if it is 100% stock.

Like mentioned, Link can be useful even on a bone stock car. But if your basically stock in terms of fuel and airflow mods (injectors, turbo, etc) then you don't need any kind of tuning. The only exception I can think of is if you significantly increased the compression ratio during your build, such as using 2g 8.5:1 pistons.

what do you have done to your car so far? its really only needed once you upgrade your fuel system like bigger injectors, fuel rail and fuel pump to better balance your air to fuel ratio with your mods and to retard timing to eliminate knock. Go for it, its the best thing you can invest in for your DSM.

Do you need it? Maybe not. Will you need it in the future? Probably.

Get a wideband and Link for your first mods. You won't regret it.

Yes, buy DSM link you will not be disappointed. When I started moding my car I first bought an AFC and 550cc inj., then I added the HKS VPC and went to 650 cc and the Buschur chip, then I added an EPROM chip from keydiver on top of all of that and then I sold it all to upgrade to DSM Link...needless to say now that DSM link is an option for 1gs it's really the way to go and don't look back. I see you have 550cc injectors according to your profile. Even if you just turn up the boost on the 14b it's really nice to have control over timing and added functions DSM link provides. Plenty of room to grow and cheaper in the long run.
