i was working on a freinds AWD 1992 eagle talon tsi yesterday. and i noticed that the wastegate setup was differnt than my FWD eagle talon with the same motor but i have a lot more mods done to mine than the other motor. on my setup i am using the stock side mount intercooler and i have a big 16gt urbo and the factory stretchy style intercooler piping. the upper intercooler pipe is the hard pipeing but the other is the stock style. the outlet on the compressor housing (the pipe that connects the outlet to the stretchy intercooler piping) has a samll nipple on it that the wastgate actuator house runs off of and connects to the nipple on top of the wastegate actuator.

now on my freinds setup it has a front mount intercooler and all hard piping with a stock 16g turbo. the nipple on top of his wastegate actuator has a hose that runs to the wastegate solenoid. i no longer am using the solenoid. and i have the throttle body nipple blocked off that this solenoid normally runs to. so i was wondering why my freinds setup dosent have the nipple on the pipe off the compressor outlet housing that runs to the intercooler piping? he still has the wastegate solenoid hooked up? is this just two differnt setups or is it time for him to change his to a non wastegate solenoid style setup?

thanks

o okay then the previous owner messed his up. he dosent have an airbox anymore he has an aftermarket in take. the line that should be going to the airbox is going to the first nipple closet to the firewall on the throttle body and the other line is going to the nipple on top of the wastegate actuator. there is no nipple or line coming off the j pipe?

any opionions on what to do with it now?
