1G Difference in 1G turbo and n/t automatics?

Are there any differences between non turbo and turbo automatic transmissions? I'm new to ghe automatic world. I did a little searching but I'm having a hard time finding an answer. which is wierd because i usually find what I'm looking for even on mobile. thanks

There`s a difference, although I think they will bolt up....if it`s FWD.

My neighbor is attempting to make this swap, but has mothballed it for now. I asked a few questions for him, but got few answers in this thread.

They are both 6bolt and fwd. I'm thinking the flexplates will possibly be the same but the converters will be different. also i know that on a 90 5spd the cables and bracket are different from a 91-94. Is this the case in automatics too?

My neighbor has halted his project. He did bolt up a `90 flexplate to his `94 non turbo converter. That`s where he stopped. It looks like it will work.

Maybe somebody else can add to this.

I'm mostly curious about the actual transmission its self but info on flexplate and converter would be nice too. now I'm wondering is your friend using a turbo or non turbo transmission?

I know with 5spds if you use a nonturbo tranny in a turbo car you have to use a nonturbo clutch setup. i wonder if any of this is true in the automatics. this is my first experiance with automatic dsms so I'm a little lost

You can bolt up a non turbo trans to a turbo motor, but it can`t handle the power....a waste of time. It`s a downgrade not an upgrade.

I think your options are:
1-find a f4a33 (turbo) trans
2-use the nonturbo trans, and toss your turbo
