i dont know on the clutch forks?? it came apart like that. my car is running 25psi and i have been taking it easy. i searched on this problem and i guess that it is actally common on the awd people say they cant take the strain that the awd put on them. i wrote and set pics to act and they do not get to me so idk. i am just going to run the 2600 again with the unsprung 6puck and see what happens.
Damn Keith, get a freaking TRE/Shep Trans already....This time around, I ended up going with a Competition Clutch stage 5 with a sprung 4 puck disk. Engagement is positive with it, but not too harsh. As for longevity, I dont have a clue. Mine has less than 100 miles but all over 30psi and it works flawlessly. I would have went back with act but I dont want to have to replace clutches on a regular basis. My last ACT(old) went through 3 trannies, I hope this does too.

Mine just popped a spring... has anyone had any success getting a replacement from ACT?
If not, then what clutch should I get? I'm done with ACT.
Tom
ACT is very easy to deal with. Take pics, send them to ACT. THey will give you an RMA number, send it back. If they see it is a defect they will send you a new kit.
Cool, good to know.
I take it you had a ACT failure and they replaced your kit easily?
I bought form JNZ, not ACT directly, that shouldn't matter right?
Tom
all this happened while I was trying to get my inspection sticker Embarrasing.. Habe not taking it apart yet so know idea how bad it is. Only good this is a have a BNIB Slowboy racing 2100 with 3 qtrs of fluid sitting at the house just no $$ to pay for the install.Tom, is that an old-style pressure plate? I've been told that the old style pressure plates won't work properly with the new style (4 big spring) disks. A buddy of mine tried it and his PP fingers were hitting the springs causing disengaugement issues. That could also explain why the figers of the PP are breaking off.Has no one noticed that the clutch disk springs on a lot of failed ACT clutches are worn???
In some cases, but not all, I've noticed that the yellow spring on the disc have had their paint worn out. This leads me to believe that the PP fingers are contacting the disc springs.
See my thread here:

In my case it looks like the clutch was not adjusted properly and the TOB pushed in too far causing the back side of the PP finger to contact the disc springs. Review the pics (including mine) and you'll notice the wear.
This could easily explain the clutch failures. At least for those that have worn springs.

I'll see what I can dig up.I didn't know that there was more than one style of PP. I received a new PP (2100) from ACT... how can i check if it's new style or old style?
Can you post pics of the two so I can compare visually?
Thanks Paul,
