Yeah, I've had bad luck with them too. I had a pressure plate break the friction surface off with only 600 miles on the clutch. And another pressure plate I broke 3 of the fingers on the diaphragm with like 5000 miles on the clutch. Don't know why I still use them in my 2g tho...

Last spring I put an ACT 2600 w/ Street disk because I blew my Slowboy racing clutch. I put it on April 2nd, failed August 4th. In my car this is equal to a few hundred miles. The ring (diaphragm) that goes around the fingers completely broke at one spot. A bunch of the fingers were pushed down in that spot. I emailed ACT. Explained what happned, filled out an RMA form, got a brand new clutch kit. No problems at all, no begging or bothering. All said and done it took a little over a week. The cluch might have failed, but their customer service was great.

I can't vote because I didn't have any problems with the springs.

HOWEVER, I was running an ACT 2100 6 puck and after only a year, and maybe 6k miles on it, a finger broke off the pressure plate.

so after trying to adjust my clutch pedal and changing the slave and master cylinder. and messing around with it. and no it adjusted right and not to tight and not to lose. i went to mess around and pull it apart. i started it up and went to push the clutch and heard the pressure plate come aprt and go though my bell housing.. not bad but fixable. is there a warranty on the act brand???

specs:
Fidanza fly-less than 2,000 on and not raced
ACT 2600 street disc-less than 2,000 on and not raced
new shift cables with roller bearing in the end
SS clutch line
new Master Cyl
New Slave Cyl
New pivot fork and TOB

If your clutch is coming apart its not "fixable" and welcome to the act failure group!

i think its time for a solid disk.
i might try the xtd or the act 6puck. who knows?

yea i sent a pic to them. i can get a act 2600 pressure plate and a 6 puck clutch for cheap i just dont know if i want act again. my friend has a xtd in his 90 gsx running 14psi and its not to bad he has the unsprung stage 4

no i was actally driving it nice since i though i was going to ship yesterday but plans change. it has about 2k on it if that. and i was driving it on the freeway about 70mph and i went to take the off ramp and then it came apart and it came to a stop. i did not dump the clutch at all or do anything bad to it.

2k miles on it is nothing, you should get a hold of act and get some answers and probably some kind of refund. I would.

I had my 2600 in my car since 2000 and never had a problem with it. I just swapped it out for a new clutch about a month ago. Funny thing is that mine is old style and has6 small springs instead of the 4 big springs like all of the newer, failing 2600's. Also notice that the old style PP is different from the newer. Im guessing that they are now using a cheaper manufacturer for their parts. Here is a pic of it. You can see the tranny has been out and in several times on the same clutch.;)
