ok please dont attack me, i so know what a turbo is and how it works. What i dont know is what are the differences between Garret, Mitsubishi, and Hybrid turbos are??is it just brand or does one actually perform better than the other??now for my question, what type does Greddy use??i think i read it was mitsubishi??can some one please give me the "know it all" on the turbos along with which one is better for what!newbie dsm-er in need of a lesson!! :tease: mitsu29!!

those are all companies you listed.

Garrett / mitsubishi turbos are two seperate companies that produce their own turbos. hybrid/mutt turbos can be a combination of different things. could be a complete turbo with a different comp wheel, different turbine wheel, different comp housing, different turbine housing.. etc

hope that helps

:thumb: ok cool thanks, that did help a bit, thats what i figured but i still have one more question: what type does a greddy use??im asking cuz although the Greddy kit can use the stock manifold, i want to upgrade it, so i know some manifolds only fit with some turboss (t3/t4 manifolds with t3/t4 turbos, etc..) so i just would like to know, ive also been looking into the Evo3 turbo which i hear is really great. not getting ahead of myself just preparing because im gonna start to get the neccessary mods i need for the turbo i want but need to know which mods (manifold etc..) for which turbo(Greddy kit, or Evo 3)thanks for the help :dsm:

You're probably better off sticking with a bolt-in replacement, either a T-28 or a Evo III 16G, which only needs a j-pipe to connect the compressor outlet to your lower intercooler pipe.

There's as many combinations of T3/T4 hybrid turbos out there as there are stars in the sky. If you want something that won't give you a headache when you install it, then the two turbos I listed are your best bet.

:D hey thanks for the advice, yet more questions sorry, what if i get an upgraded intercooler, will that j-pipe still work or would just use the piping that would come with one?oops think i answered my own question dork( :tease: -->mitsu2) anyways i love the feedback ive been getting so thanks a lot guys and i will keep you posted on what happens to my :dsm:
