DEAD obdll port

So I have noticed that my CEL light comes on after a good 30mile drive or so and no noticeable effect on the car but I hate having a CEL light. If I shut the car off for a couple minutes then start it up again NO CEL light. I stopped by auto zone this time when it came on to have them scan and tell me what the problem was so I could fix it but when they got it all connected up he said and showed me that he wasnt gettin any kind of signal. From a simple inspection it appears that all of the wires are connected and looks like its in working order.

I have never had a problem in this department. I havent done a continuity test yet being my tools arent with me but its next on my list of checking. So my question is has anyone had this problem and what should I check or look for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Awesome information. I will check everything out tomorrow weather permitting and get back on here. My map lights dont work so I bet this is causing the problem for both the OBDll and the map lights since they share the same fuse. I have done a fuse check but its been a couple months now. Thought the map lights were a wiring problem possible it still is but it would be nice to get two birds with one stone.

sure enough it was a blown fuse. Soon as I put a new one in everything came back to life. Must have been blown since I bought the car. Thanks for the help!
