Day 9 of the build

After a slight vacation from the build i decided to do some work this last week. Today was the derust the rear diff project. here is how it all went down

decided to clean my rear diff some


how it started

after some work with a metal chisel and wire brush

sanded and wire wheeled

unfortunate findings

also found 2 of the bolts rusted through and snapped off. I have drilled and will be heli coiling them tomorrow

right now its primed and drying

ill he posting finished pics in the next post since its got to wait for monday so i can get the m10x1.25 helicoil kit

Holy sheep shit thats alot of rust! I hope the rest of the suspension arms and underbody is not in the same condition

sadly only this and the rear bumper support had rust on it. even the gas tank shield was clean.
