Has anyone spliced a usb and connected it to a datalog cable? I have a new Tungsten E and that uses usb. Just wondering if anyone has done USB conversion.

I'm not sure about the connection on your palm, but you can buy a cable on ebay that has serial on one end and a hot sync on the other end. I bought mine for 12 bucks or so.

They do make usb to serial connectors too; seen those for $20 or so.

I just tried a USB to serial converter on XP and it didn't work. It wouldn't communicate with the car. I have heard of people getting it to work though.
