So I was wondering if anybody out there knew of any good PC based datalogger software. I have this really cool tablet laptop thats smaller than most others out there so I dont need a palm pilot . I allready have a OBDII to serial, and serial to USB cable to hook it all up. A friend set me up with this Scan Tech 1.02(generic version), but I have not got a chance to hook it up to my car, and messing with the software shows it to be a little weak. Does anybody know of somthing that is realy reliable and very precise?

Evoscan looks good, but is there any other loggers out there for OBD2 that dont require me to buy a 100 dollar cable. Maybe somthing thats not that advanced. I understand that it reads knock and its pretty much the best out there, but I'm short on cash. I'm looking for a software download that will do the job well enough for my safc2. Also I know that alot of software works better on like windows 98 and such, but my tablet run on vista. Is there somthing that work on Vista?

is evo scan as cool as it looks on that site? and does it work on the 95 tsi's?
worth the $125?

Yes it does. Version 2.6 beta7 doesn't work on dsm at the moment, but the previous did.
But don't expect more that 20-30 samples per second, the ecu is old and wired.

With newer evo 8 ecus you get over 200 samples per second.

Yes, if you can't download it, you always can write a mail to them and get them.

i mean at that point the best things for 95's with eproms is still just ECMlink yes? i was wondering if there was something kind of comparable to dsmlink for the 95 eprom's that wasn't as expensive myself being that i've been a little low on funds lately but from what i've found i guess i'm shelling out the money for v3?
