Hey all,
I had a chance today to crawl under my "new" DSM today for the first time. There is an AEM A/F gauge on the pillar, but I've yet to see it operate. I suspected there is / was a WBO2 installed, but had no proof. Until today.

Sure enough, I found the WB. And the remainder of the harness leading into the cabin. And the remainder of the connector for the sensor. Which leads to the question: Is it repairable, or am I better off replacing the sensor?

I found a replacement cable on AEM's site for the gauge. It "may" still be possible to plug into the existing connector, but I can't verify. Additionally, a portion of the side is missing, exposing connections inside. (And to top it off, I seem to remember that driving with an un-powered WBO2 will kill it.)

Or I can just bypass the connector and directly splice. My gut says I'm better off replacing everything, but you never know 'till you ask.

Thanks in advance.

James

I can get some (pictures) tomorrow when it's light out. I'll see if I can describe it properly:

The gauge end of the cable is completely destroyed. Wires are frayed. The connector (leading to the gauge) is gone.

The sensor end of the connector is damaged. How damaged I don't know. But I did see the housing cracked in several places, as well as missing pieces of plastic. It also looks as if the trim resistor has been exposed.

I'll post the pics once I get them.

Thanks.

The connector on the o2 Sensor itself is gonna be the problem...

As long as you can hook up the gauges wires to the sensor connector(whether you solder them or what not) you should be fine... .

But the sensor that the AEM gauges uses Is
"Individually calibrated and a resistor integral at the connector body is laser trimmed with this value. This process replaces the traditional "free air" calibration procedure when changing sensors and implements a sensor specific calibration."

So if you damaged this part of the sensor body you'll more then like need a new O2 sensor..

Honestly from the sounds of it you may need the Sensor and the harness which will probability cost in the end as much as a whole new W/b kit...
