I'm trying to replace my rear cv axle shaft on the passenger side. I accidentally bought the 90-94 haynes manual for eclipses talons and pep boys said they wouldn't take it back because I took the plastic off :ohdamn:. Is the tutorial in the 90-94 pretty much the same for the 95-99s? Also, is there a tutorial on how to do this anywhere (probably not but worth a shot)?

take out the cotter pin in the axle nut, break the axle nut loose and remove it. Jack up the car take the wheel off. Remove the caliper and rotor and tie it up somewhere out of the way, DO NOT let it hang by the rubber line. disconnect the lower suspension from the knuckle, pull the hub back off the axle. There may be a little brace under the cv axle I can't really recall but you will need to remove it. Use a screwdriver pry bar whatever to pop the axle out of the diff. drop the cv joint below the diff and pull it out that way. Install the opposite way. always use new axle nuts and cotter pins as well. also use antiseize on the cv splines that go into the hub bearing NOT the splines that go into the diff

The cv shaft the guy gave me when I bought the car isn't the same axle. Anyone know where I can order a right rear cv shaft for my 96 awd tsi?
