I have read through every thread involving this, as well as the 60+ page ebay FMIC thread. The options are to hack the bottom to make it down firing, or purchase or fab up a way to route it back including pipes and/or rad hose, u pipes, v pipes... etc My question is, wouldn't one be better hacking it off, as it creates less piping and less sharp bends in return creating less pressure drop even if it is a small amount? Im installing the kit this weekend, and wanted opinions.

I would probably cut it to make it down firing and use a 90* coupler. You might want to have a bead welded on the compressor housing though so you don't blow the coupler off.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm just going to cut it, and purchase a 90* coupler, as it is less possible sources of boost leaks, and piping.

I ended up doing the same on a recent install on a t25 but I wouldn't expect it to be a permanent solution as there won't really be a bead on the t25's turbo outlet :)

But then again once you have a FMIC on the car, the t25 never really stays on for much longer :sneaky:
