I have a 97 mitsubishi eclipse. When my car is completely cold, like I have let it sit all night and I try to start the car, it will turn on for a few seconds, then cut off. I've changed the fuel filter just to make sure that wasn't the problem. Another thing that probably doesn't matter, when I turn the ignition on the "on" setting the temp gauge in the car goes up to cold like it's suppose to. when I start to turn it over, it goes up a little bit like it's suppose to. Once the car is started though, the gauge drops like I had the car off under cold and the car cuts off. Once the car has warmed up though I can cut the car off and start it no problem. I was thinking it could be my fuel relay or fuel pump. Can any one help me?

Thanks. Yeah it ended up being my ECT sensor. The car, when started, would think that it was warm so it wouldn't run rich like it's suppose to when the car was started and that would force the car to shut off. Thanks for all the help.
