Custom Intercooler Kit

Hello Tuners

So I'm in the process of putting up a custom intercooler and piping route with different brand parts. on a stock T25(i want to run it with a (FMIC)

The purpose of this is, 1 is cheaper for me, 2 im not looking for the best parts out there but not the worst, 3 like some of us i want o keep the fog lights exactly how they are, 4 im one in a few who wants to keep the crash beam just how it came from factory, and 5th the most i want out this project for a while is close to 300hp if so, nothing cazy, which is my daily..

Intercooler size: 29"x6"x2.5" - 2.5" Inlet/Outlet
The upper intercooler piping i will be using is RRE from Thorttle Body to stock SMIC location, and from there ill go with another piping to FMIC..

The lower piping from the T25 to driver side FMIC Inlet is the problem. I'm not sure how i'm going to pull this one off, what im thinking is if this 180degree elbow would work :

At least for it to go from intercooler around to the inside and from there run another silicone pipe to turbo...

Unless you plan to upgrade your turbo soon all you're going to get out of a fmic is increased lag

+1. Even my 14b with a FMIC w/2.5in piping, my turbo doesn't spool until, 3.2-3.5k @ 20psi.

yes i will UPGrade the turbo later on of course i wont do no where over 250hp on T25 but yes i will most likely upgrade very soon actually.. Thank You.

I am running a T25 right now but i will most likely upgrade later on to a Small 16G or T28...

If you only want 250 whp you don't need a fmic..Why don't you go with a supra sidemount, or aftermarket sidemount with hard piping..Then will support up to 350whp and will not increase lag..Ohh and they look stock, because it's a sidemount..A big ole FMIC says I'm here for buisness....

This is 100% true Bud. And those were my intensions, but i got fooled, i bought a supposedly "oversize stock smic" from a guy here, and i cleaned it up and all, and when i took my factory side mount i realize is not the same mounting or even piping, and after a couple of searches i foudn out that what i was sold was a 1G-SMIC, which is thicker then our 2Gs, but different mounting points, i still have it if you have any ideas on how i can make that one work which is would be great because it is a bigger then my stock smic...

Unless you know someone or a vender selling a Bigger sidemount, i don't like the supras(my friend has one), and i dont like the fact it seats lower.

If you wanted to go with a stock supra sidemount which would be much cheaper..YOu could find on ebay or craigslist for probably less than 100 bux..Heres the link for the install on a supra sidemount.

Then all you would have to get is the hard IC pipes..But from what I have heard it's a tricky install..

wow i appreciate the help Bud, i will stay away from the supra , i don't mind paying a good price on a new SMIC as long as is thicker and better then stock smic. Since im not looking for huge power and i would have teh sleeper look with a bolt-on SMIC that is goign to be great. now i have to find who still make/sells it. if you have any idea let me know, i'm going to start making a few phone calls.

I can tell you for a fact that Dejon don't make them anymore (emailed them a while back for a friend of mine). Bullseye might still have some, not sure. I have an extra but it'll be going on another build I have, they are rare to find these days and even rarer in Canada (the vendor ones) but work great on small builds. Try posting up a WTB thread, who knows maybe someone has one laying around.

and yea they are hard to find which is why i gave up on them a whiel back and decided to go with a small FMIC. but for a small built like me thats exactly what i want that sleeper look and stock front end look..

I just Emailed Bullseye, if i don't get a response by tommorow then ill give them a call..

Update what? The only thing they offer on their site for SMIC's is piping. The catalog on DSMTuners is what's woefully out of date. Half the stuff on there is no longer available.
