custom catback cost

Unfortunately I don't have any welding equipment, and I don't want to shell out big bucks for a 3'' catback and muffler setup. I've never gone to a muffler shop for any custom work, so how much would it generally cost for a custom catback? thanks.

about the same labor wise as it would an ebay exhaust, depends on the quality of the shop, also you may not get a true 2.5 or 3inch exhaust either. I would just buy one unless you know a shop that does mandrel bends

It's possible to get a good custom exhaust from a shop, but if you're on a budget, I think it's just easier to buy one off ebay like I did. An ebay cat-back won't be more then $200 shipped. If you do go that route look into Tsudo cat-backs sold by "japanimportshop." I bought a 3" cat-back from them almost a year ago and am very pleased with it. It sounds good, is of good quality, and was easy to install.

Ebay sounds good, $200 with shipping for a complete straightpipe 3'' to some ricey exhaust. I'll just cut off the exhaust and put a real muffler..

Ebay exhausts are junk, they NEVER bolt up correctly and you end up having to go spend more money to get them to bolt up properly. I got quoted $300 for a FULL turboback with muffler and flex etc so I'm sure a 3" catback would be in the range of $150-$200 depending on which muffler you go with. Check the classifieds for used exhaust, there is ALWAYS good deals on exhausts in there. GL

Dude, my Ebay exhaust cost me 110 bucks, shipped to my door and i've got no complaints about it. I've actually gotten a few compliments on how deep it is.

Its not false info, you both got lucky. If I started a poll on here about how many people had to mod their ebay exhausts to get them to fit you'd be surprised. Why take the risk of that happening? No one is bullshitting when they say "you get what you pay for".

I honestly haven't heard too many complaints from people who actually purchased an exhaust system like mine off ebay. I heard good reviews of them before I purchased mine and I have recommended the exact one I purchased to a few others and none have complained so far. I don't think I got lucky at all. There may be some ebay exhausts that are not as great, but I always recommend the one from the seller I purchased from because everyone I know who has purchased it was very happy with the product.

Unless the shop's prices are fairly close to the the ebay ones I would just go with ebay. But assuming the shop does good work and its a decent price you might as well go for the custom one, that way you know exactly what your getting and you won't have any fitment issues at all.

Exactly, we aren't talking about turbos here. It is possible to make piping cheaply because it is just that, piping.

I just put on my ebay exhaust last night.It bolted up perfectly and sounds/looks pretty good for being 180 bucks...My only complaint is that it has a neck down about and inch long where the stock cat would be bolted.Once I find someone to weld stainless I'm going to chop that little chunk off and have a 3in flange welded on.
