i plan to buy an ebay 2g gst catback exhaust, then convert it to fit a 2g gsx. for some reason they are MUCH cheaper. can i have some opinions on whether or not this is a good idea, and if possible a good deal on an already gsX ready exhaust?

I think the cat back portion between the NT and GST are the same layout is why they are cheaper. If you had the exhaust, a welder and cutter I would say sure save a few bucks if you too lazy to sell and pay a little more. If your buying a new one then you probably shouldn't try unless your getting an amazing deal on one.

Check this out, he converted his exhaust from his GST for his new GSX, lots of work and time involved.

^^^agreed^^^ ha you'll spend a lot of time trying to hack something up that will look like poop when your done

Bolt on stuff is way more fun, and less complicated. Plus, one wrong measurement and that exhaust will be rattling on your drive shaft, axles, bumper, or whatever its close too, NOT worth it IMO. Between the gas you will spend driving into town, and buying more piping when your halfway through the job, and replacing weld wire, you will honestly save very little. Hope you see the light brutha!!!

If you are planning to hack the GST to fit your GSX because of the price differences, You should be better of building one, just buy the parts and flanges and you will have one for cheaper.

But my best advice would be to get the right one and just bolt it ON.

+1

If you dont want to build one get the correct one. DSM arn't the cheapest cars to build. Save up do it once and correct = money and time saved in the long run.
