Im debating what to do for injector sizing and im just interested to see what kind of power/boost/timing you guys are able to get out of your holeset on 93oct. Most of the info i've seen for 25 to 30psi(which is my goal) is on e85. Anyone able to run that kind of boost without having to kill all the timing?

Are you using meth injection at all?

I'm able to get to around 25 but I'm getting timing pull from knock and that is around 7* advance

no meth, heres a v3 log. pay no attention to my coolant temp, i fixed the connection on the sensor yesterday

I run 30psi, with about 14 deg timing advance, on 93.

It's very do-able. This turbo likes pump.

FWIW, I'm at the same place with an FP3052. 12* timing at 6K, which is peak tq, and a couple more degrees up top.

yea i noticed the other night that i could throw some more timing in the motor because its so cold out, i guess buscher street fmic isnt cutting it in the summer.

I used to run meth and 780s and was running 18-19 degrees of timing at 30psi on my hx35, car felt pretty fast. Dsmlink was estimating hp at like 420-440hp. I doupt its accurate but thats all I have to compare too. Besides something like "oh it feels fast".

Then I started having problems with my meth set up. So I ditched the meth and got 1000CCs and still run 30psi with 13-14degrees of timing. Car def feels significantly slower even the HP estimation says now is between 370-390.

I thought about running more boost to make up for the lack of timing but I just don't feel comfortable running 30+psi on a stock motor. Also keep in mind in summer time the car feels even slower before no matter what time of the year it was with the meth on the car it always felt the same and logged similar values. Now that its cold the car feels quick but in the summer time on straight pump it felt much slower. BTW I have been daily driving this car with this set up for over 3 years now every single day so I know exactly how it feels when something isnt right or its slower etc.

My advice if you can get meth or do E85, do it. I am going to swap again to 780s or 880s and do a different meth set up.

So to answer your question, no I dont think you can have more than 14 degrees of timing on straight 93 with a holset at 30psi.

ive heard that the dsmlink hp est is pretty close, mine says 470-480hp and ive done 40mph roll ons with a dyno tuned 450 whp car and pulled on it, so it sure seems close

Good posts guys this is the kinda stuff i was looking for. I do have a meth kit i can use and i do have e85 where i live. I guess the main reason for this tread was to see if i would have to do e85 to meet the boost goal. Only reason i havent coverted yet is because i do take 5hr road trips to go back up to my home town now and again and the e85 is kinda hard to find up there and i dont want to have to sacrifice not being able to get fuel for some extra power(this is my dd,practicality is my main concern). Seeing that it is doable i think i may stay with 93 and if need be use the meth. I suppose depending on what i choose for a tuning solution i could do a map for both. Im currently using jackal which can do multiple maps, however that project seems to have come to an end....Does link have multiple map options as well?

Hmm interesting, A few people I know told me its pretty accurate but I don't really know how the online world perceives it as far as being a reference point or just a number you can completely ignore.

As far as link having multiple map options I'm not 100% sure. I dont think link V2 has it. But something makes me think V3 has multiple map feature.
