Hey guys,
I know I am bending the rules of your forum a bit here but I do not mean any disrespect and I am not here to cause any trouble. I am not a DSM guy and I don't see how I could hang around on here and making pointless posts just to get some help.
I don't know if there is any bad blood between Mitsu guys and Subaru guys but I DD an STI swapped 2001 Impreza Coupe. Anyone with some real HP in an AWD car is a friend in my book.
I am in the middle of an extensive search for an OE Holset HX40W 16cm^2 waste-gated housing with a T3 foot. Since this forum keeps taking up half the Google hits when I search for anything with "HX40" in it. I am hoping someone might have one of these housing laying around as a take off that I can buy. Would anyone who is an active member here be willing to help me? Maybe a friendly mod or knowledgeable member who knows who to ask and where to post a WTB thread and play the role of middle man for me? The Holset part number I am looking for is 4031471.
I bought a Dodge Cummins truck with a worn out and rotted HX40W on it. I tried to salvage the housings and just replace the CHRA during my rebuild of the truck but they were too far gone after 15 years on a Northeast snow plow truck. I thought I was getting a direct replacement when I shipped my turbo off to Turbo Supply Inc. as a core exchange for a reman turbo. Unfortunately Turbo Supply tried to pull one over on my by sending a well built reman turbo with an 18CM^2 housing... I am building a truck for towing so I need the 16CM^2 housing for my needs. Turbo Supply can't find any 16CM^2 cores after a month of twiddling their thumbs hoping a core would show up on their doorstep and they could not salvage my old housing either...
I have done quite a bit of my own searching on the interwebs and the Diesel and 4x4 forums that I am an active member of with no luck. The HX40 was once a popular upgrade for us Cummins 5.9L guys but now everyone has moved on to Switzer and Borg turbos so there are not too many parts floating around anymore.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.
JJ
