New guy looking for help - smoke

Yes i have used the search and read numerous threads on this subject.

At start (cold) no smoke at idle - warmed up no smoke at idle

Normal driving light to no boost - no smoke

Drop the hammer and at boost LOTS of white smoke - HUGE cloud - goes away if I dump the throttle.

Compression test - 150 across the board
No broken fins - no shaft play
burns maybe half a quart of oil between oil changes (3000 miles)
No coolant lose - no bubbles in the radiator while running.

Stock car 166k miles - Turbo XS Manual Boost controler - I have it up 3 clicks and car will boost to 12PSI

Im not sure what to think - turbo seals gone? Do i need to do a Leakdown test? Guess i have to learn to do one of those sometime ... is now the time?

Sounds like it, have you checked for shaft play?

as i said in initial post - not broken fins in the turbo - spins free and clear - no shaft play at all - very tight ...

hence my confusion ... have checked everything that i can think of

first turbo charged car i have really wrenched on ... easy way to check that? Gonna do a leak down test tomorrow and see what I get.

Leak down test = didn't give me anything - no bubbles in the radiator - no air from the oil cap or dipstick - nothing from the muffler.

Only option left is the turbo seals - of which I have no clue how to check / replace - since all my other test have come back in the green and there is no shaft play - guess its time to drop some cash ....

any other ideas before i have to go to shop or stealer for this and get bent over?
