Hi there, my friend who owns a DSM but doesn't have an account asked me to post this up for help. He usually has all of his DSM needs taken care of at a well known DSM fast shop here in the bay area. With only 8k miles on a full rebuilt 6 bolt block the valve train(one or two rockers) mest up along messing up his hks 272s, He got fp2's and the same crap happened again.

He proceeded to take his cylinder head off and took it to our local machine shop. They told him that the spring pressure (not sure if its the proper term) was different in every valve.... in other terms low. Before he even removed the head, he made sure all the timing marks were in the right place! Could the Faulty aftermarket springs cause this? (Brian Crower). He had supertech valves/B. Crower combo with FP2 Camshafts. Not sure what caused the springs to loose strength over a short period of time. His car is NOT RAN HARD all the time, I know that for sure.

My Question now is... WHICH SPRING AND VALVE COMBO WOULD BE BEST FOR HIM, oviously doesn't want to try crower no more:nono:. Thanks in advanced.

dude... it is NOT THE FAULT OF THE SPRINGS! but the shop that installed them and most likely did not measure the installed height of the spring before buckling up the head.

I have installed the BC1100 springs in about 30 4g head with out any issue

woth out an accurate measurement of the distance betweem the bottom of the retainer and the spring seat, ANY spring will fail if not set up correctly.

here is some spring info I have gatered up and posted...

checking the installed height in a 4g63 head is a TRUE PITA... but it has to be done...some local machine shop may be lazy and just drop them in thinking they will be "close enough", or just do not care, or do not have the tools to do a proper job, or a machinist tha dosnt know how too.....
