I know alot remove them and I did but when I made my fuel tank I get alot of vapors from the amounts of fuel being moved around from the pumps and swirlpot. So to fix this i made venting canisters a while back. They work but i wanted them larger and also better as i used push on barbs. Nice but not AN nice 
So these will now live inside the trunk vs under the chassis rail in the rear. Will keep them cleaner at least.
Many ways to do this but one thing to remember is (make it serviceable)!!! Im not a huge fan of one use parts so I try my best to make it last almost a lifetime. So on that I left the orb adaptors larger then the hole and then placed a mesh under it at the base so once done up holds in place and thus zero charcoal can escape. And tne its removeable later via shaking or you need to replace the broken down material (which in reality should be never but over saturation can cause this)
A few bits on simple alloy plate and some bends or even round will work! No need to baffle inside as its not required for this system. Use activated charcoal / fish charcoal as its the better type to use
Bolt it to your desired location and thats it! You got a nice serviceable canister and will stop fuel vapors from smelling you out or around you! Plus its now not a safety issue around the car with sparks etc!
