One of my carrier bearing studs have been stripped. It will go all the way up and soon as it gets tight it pops. So I tried rethreading it to the same size. M10 x 1.25 Same issue. I even tried 2 brand new nuts and no change. So I was wondering if it would be an option to get a die that can do M10 X 1.00 or maybe go smaller bolt size with a M8 x 1.25.

I just don't want it to be unsafe. I am trying my very best to not have to cut it out and weld a new one in.

Why don't you just use a couple of washers so the nut will stop in a place that has good threads?

Pretty sure. I bought 2 brand new nuts because that is what I thought the problem was too.

Oh, well then I would try using a die on it and rethreading the entire thing. But if that fails then you will have to get a stud welded on there.

Yah thats what I was wondering. I used a die and threaded it back to a m10 x 1.25
But would it be ok to go to a smaller thread? m8 x 1.25

I used the die as colt suggested along with a new washer and lock but. Worked perfect.
