This guy on youtube says he can join pretty much any engine to any transmission.

Anyone ever done this with our 2G GSXs? It would be nice to find a transmission that always has parts available and has build options to make it more durable. I seen it done a few times on different cars but haven't seen anyone do it with our cars. For instance, I saw this guy on youtube put an audi transmission (believe from a r8) into a lamborghini huracan to make it a manual transmission since the huracan only comes in automatic.

It's easy when you have a RWD-based platform, just run an adapter plate to the bellhousing you need, size the flywheel appropriately for the clutch you'll need, and you're done. The AWD DSM is unique in that it has a FWD-layout transmission that has 3 output points. Very few other transmissions have 3 outputs, never mind having them in the correct locations. Even if you could put an adapter plate onto the 4G63, nothing else would come close. Trust me, if it was this easy, someone would've found a solution ages ago.

Yeah I saw a video of this guy with a 4g63t in his truck but it's turned sideways. Not sure if that's possible or would help it fit another awd transmission since it would be connected straight to the crankshaft instead of sideways but that would require custom motors mounts etc. Almost seems easier to do a GS to evo 4g63t swap like miguel did but even if I did do that wouldn't ever be California legal and pass smog because I'm pretty sure they'll fail you automatically if you have an AWD system in a car with the vin showing it's FWD.
