Ok I am doing my oil pan for like the 4th 5th time. I have a oil leak that is coming from the front pass side by the flywheel. I have check the back the flywheel and it does not seem oily at all. All looks to be good. So I do not think its a the rear main unless there are other ways to tell. Now I know its engine oil for sure. It looks like it drips from the oil pan but there is oil on the slave cyc and then on the rubber boot on the transmission. Im lost and having a hard time finding this leak. When I boost the leak gets 10x worse. But if I just drive it does not seem to leak. What all is on that side that could cause me to leak. Confused beause how would I get engine oil on the rubber boot on the transmission

Anyone I have been fighting this leak forever. Its taking me to the point to get rid the pos car. If I cant get if figured out.

you're sure its engine oil right? Only thing I could suggest is look at the oil pan around the area of question and look to see if its wet around the seal between the block and the pan. it could still be the real main seal. I know on my old talon I could never get the stupid pan to seal right. I did it like 3 times. I think the pan was probably defective or something cause I tried everything!

Two spots to check, 1 turbo oil feed. It is right above the bell housing and if the banjo bolt is a touch loose or the copper crush washers are brittle with age it might weep at idle and drip under power. 2 turbo drane line. The drane is right in front of the transfer and if it weeps it can go everywhere. Mine was leaking changed the gasket and the 2 alloy washers and no more leak. For those parts go to :dsm: the gasket has a silicone seel built into it. and just in case change out the two copper wasers on the oil feed. It's all cheep.

Basically the turbo oil line is leaking. It is only leaking under boost because of pressure. While in boost the car "SHOULD" be warm and the fans are usually running. You boost, car spits out oil, fans blow said oil all over the locations you described. Check the whole oil line system going to and from the turbo.

Clean the whole area thoroughly with brake cleaner. Idle and rev it for a while. If you don't see anything, go for a very short drive with maybe a bit of boost and check again. Should be much easier to trace the source when things are clean.

I have cleaned and put it in the air at work for a hour with it in gear. I started to see the dye but its not the oil pan its was not coming from oil pan but was leaking on the trans case and running down and was again by the slave cyc. Im lost on this one. When I drive it home going to give it some boost and hopefully it will be easier to find it not. Its going to have to come down to take the engine out and looking at it. Or just the transmission. What best way to take just the trans out of a 1g? Or is it just easier to pull it all as one?

If your pcv valve is leaking, it will not build pressure in the crankcase just letting it idle as the engine is in vacuum then. If it is leaking under boost it will build pressure in the crankcase. Usually the first symptom on our motors is blowing the oil dipstick out of the tube, but if the seal is still tight on the stick to the tube it may cause the pressure to find another way out of the motor.

im sorry i thought you said the leak was much worse under boost...a small oil leak at idle will still leak, but under boost it would leak much more, assuming a pcv prob.

Im not telling you where the leak is, just offering some insight as to why it may be worse under boost conditions.

what about the crush washer on the oil feed line from the head? ive seen those leek oil pretty good sometimes.
