Ok so i put a new alternator on my car yesterday and by last night i was out of oil. Could it be possible i knocked something loose around the sending unit? There's alot of oil on the alternator and inside the drivers side front rim. I can't see the leak i assume its only leaking under pressure. But i think it just got worse out of nowhere because i drove the car about 100 miles yesterday and didn't have trouble till the very end. I was a few miles outside town and the oil light came on. I noticed the pressure had dropped so i had someone bring me two quarts of oil, and then those leaked out by the time i got home. Any idea what happened? I cant tell by looking from the top, and i wont be able to get the car on dry ground and on a jack till later, so i was hoping someone could tell me what to look for once i do. Thanks.

Try cleaning all the oil that already spilled on the engine. Jack up the car and have a buddy help you out have the car running and see if it that helps you. Check oil feed line maybe oil pan gasket or valve cover gasket? Make sure to clean it off good tho that way it will be easier to track a leak.

I have same issue. Ive had leaks at the oil filter housing (both gaskets) and at oil presaure sending unit (needes tightening). Also oil pan gasket of course. And check your valve cover gasket (for oil on alternator).. also the oil cooler lines from ofh love to leak.

Ya I solved mine. The oil pressure sending unit was so loose i reached in by the front tire and turned it like 5 times around by hand before i even needed a wrench so it was pretty loose! I tightened it all down now and it seems to have stopped the leak.
