Obrigado!

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well.

After taking several measurements, I concluded that my engine has crankshaft end play. All the measurements I took showed more than 0.40 mm (about 0.016") of crankshaft end play.

I discovered this after the car suddenly stopped while I was driving. I ran a diagnostic and found a fault with the crankshaft position sensor. After installing a new sensor, I started hearing a loud noise that sounded like the drive plate (reluctor wheel) scraping against the sensor. That was when I decided to measure the crankshaft end play.

What is typically recommended to properly correct crankshaft end play? Which parts are usually replaced during the repair?

Is there a temporary fix that can be done just by removing the oil pan and working from underneath the engine, or is a complete engine teardown the only proper solution?

Any advice from people who have dealt with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
