hello group i just ordered a new crankshaft seal waiting of it to come in my question is how do u change the crankshaft seal

So rear main seal, next to the flywheel, yes? Because there’s another “crankshaft” oil seal in the front cover. Just want to be clear which one we’re talking about.

It's called the main seal. The one towards the driver side between the trans and engine is the rear main seal. The one towards the passenger side on the oil pump is the front main seal. Either one takes some mechanical knowledge. Which one are you replacing? I can walk you through it, just need to know which one.

well when i pull my engine in the spring time when winter moves out of PA id like to replace my front main seal.

It's easy if you already have the engine pulled out. Just remove the crank pulley, outer timing cover, timing belt, crankshaft sprocket. Pop the old one out with a flathead screwdriver or if you have a pick set that's better (careful not to scratch the sealing surface on the crankshaft), clean the area, then press the new one in. I like to use a deep socket to install, and make sure it's sitting flush and evenly pressed in.

The FSM doesn't call for use of any sealants but I usually use a skim layer of rtv on the outer diameter to hold it in place, I've seen them pop out before.

thank u it seems fairly simple but i wasnt sure how to get the crankshaft sprocket off. i mean the pully or harmonic balancer as we call them is easy to take off done a few before.
