cam seal replacement

Oil leaks, what a pain! I got oil on cam sprocket, inside timing cover to dripping from bottom of cover and oil filter bracket. Replaced filter bracket gasket but didn't help. Service manual says to use special tool to install cam seals. Is that tool pressing the seal into the head? Can it be done w/o the tool and is this tool expensive. If i'm getting oil on the sprockets then it should be the cam seals right?

You don't need a special tool to insert the cam seal. You can either loosen the cam cap, or just drive it in with a socket. As for what is leaking, it would be the cam seals, valve cover, or it could be transferring up there from a lower leak on the belt.

Thinking about front case gasket while I have belt off. Already changed crank seal, now will that need replaced again if I change front case gasket.

You will have to drop the oil pan to change the front case gasket.

You shouldnt have to replace the crank seal again ass long as its not damaged.
