crankshaft positioning sensor bad. what can this cause to happen?

OK you all no whats been going wrong with my car... my check engine light came on so i diagnosed it and it said my crankshaft positioning sensor is going out... can this cause everything that is happening to my car? for those of you that don't no whats been happening to it it has been running to lean and manifold and turbo have been glowing after driving for a while and my turbo boost way to much. basically the engines just been running crazy like......
 
Overly lean can cause your turbo to spool more than normal, more heat, more energy.

Retarded timing can cause excessive manifold temps, as can rich. At low load , rich, and retarded timing will make a manifold glow. Leans less likely to make it glow due to it running so poorly.

A bad crank sensor could possibly be a reason why your motor is running retarded timing.

I only know one thing; If you continue to drive this thing when its "lean,glowing,and overboosting" your next thread will be discussing a rebuild. do yourself a favor and park it til its fixed:thumb:

You can drive a stock setup to glow if you absolutely rape it, and stop at night, and pop the hood quickly.

What make you sure its lean?
 
well the fuel pressure test was 41.4psi so that's why i think its lean but tonight i diagnosed it and it said my crank shaft positioning sensor is going out...
 
You could be rich at 30 psi, and lean at 60psi. Fuel pressure does not equal air/fuel ratio. Replace your crank sensor. Pull a plug, take a pic,post it.

43psi is base pressure. It'll be less with vacuum. variance of +-5psi is fine.
