can an o2 sensor cause this?

So, I put my car all back togther new head and the such. New turbo and o2 sensor housing. anyway, since i put everything back on, i've noticed my narrowband running all the way lean. The car ran great last night. when i went to start it this morning, it would barely run. i tried new plugs, nothing. Checked the codes and i have a o2 sensor heater problem on both sensors, an evap purge control and speed sensor code. Could a bad front o2 sensor be causing the car to run bad? before all this work it only threw a code for the rear sensor, (no cat). Could a recently reset ecu + a newly fried o2 sensor mess up my fuel trims enough to make it barely run?
 
My front o2 sensor looked fine in DSMLink doing it's cycles but when I finally put on a wideband, my idle was extremely lean. Changed my o2 sensor and looks good now.
 
If it was running fine before the all the work (with the same O2 sensor), chances are that you did something to cause the problem, or your tune is now much different due to the new turbo, etc.

I'd double check everything you did first. If the O2 sensor is indeed toast now, it's still likely that something that you've done fried it. Fix the cause... not the result. ;)

Ok, so i realized, i might as well buy a wideband o2. so im taking the stock one back. the o2 sensor cannot cause the car not to start period.

all i hear when i turn it over is grinding. like there is metal everwhere. BUT IT RAN PERFECT when i shut it down for the night. i mean WTF!!!!. i'm so mad because i have to take it to the dealer. and pay $100 to just diagnose it.......


IT ran great with a slight idle problem (low vacuum) for 4 days before it crapped out one morning...

Did you check to see if there actually is metal everywhere? If you removed/replaced the head and turbo, I'd start there. Did you get it timed correctly when the head and timing components went back on?

Was the new turbo oil feed hooked up correctly? You may have hosed the turbo which then threw metal into the motor. Check the turbo shaft for play, pull the VC and look for damage or metal shavings.

You still need an O2 sensor for closed-loop operation, even with a wideband (although some WB's can simulate a stock NB sensor).

Unfortunately, I think your issues are much deeper than an O2 sensor.
