Well after my last oil change i decided to put in a K&N oil filter even after everyone has warned me about them i noticed that it raised my oil pressure by about 1/6 an inch on the stock gauge. Well after a couple of days i noticed some drip of oil coming out from whereever i park.

I get under my car and see alot of oil and then i clean it off with brake cleaner. wipe it off and then let the car idle.

For about 2 minutes it idled and did nothing so i had someone rev the engine to about 3000-4000 and still nothing for about 30 seconds.

Right when he let off the throttle cable oil started someing out from in between my oil pan and crank seal not sure which one. so my question is has anyone had this happen to them before and know which one it is before cause the oil pan would be easy but i dont really have time to deal with the crank seal right now. thanks for the time

-The crank shaft oil seal leak will cause oil run along the seam of the oil pan make it look like the oil pan is leaking, you just have to remove the lower timing belt cover to get a better look. Too me oil pan is a PITA because I always have hard time getting the RTV to seal good.

-Ps: you can run the motor with just the timing belt (less alternator belt) on for a quick diagnosis, just watch the coolant temp.

i meant that i know its the oil pan or the crank seal i wasnt saying that you didnt know what you were talking about, i should have been more specific i just didnt know if you knew that or not. so what would just running the car with the timeing belt and alternator belt do?

-In order for you to see the crank oil seal, the lower timing belt cover need to be removed, before you can get the lower timing belt off, you would have to remove the alternator belt. From my experience, crank oil seal won't leak unless it's rotating.

I currently have the same problem. You can rule out the crank seal if you don't have any oil on or around your timing belt. When my exhaust gaskets come in, we are going to drop the oil pan, try to re-seal it and hopefully that will fix the problem. If not, my car will probably be down for a week or two.
