Oil pan leak?

Well the video kinda stinks cause the lens isnt wide angle so its pretty close up, but i hope you can see all that. It looks like a ton of gunk and oil around the oil pan area. Does it look like its leaking from the top of the oil pan? Should i try to clean off the oil and then run it a week and get back under it to see if i can find where the oils coming from?

It could also be leaking around your turbo drain bolts. It's common to have leaks from both the drain and around the oil pan, especially if the pan was ever bolted up with a gasket instead of RTV like it came from the factory with.

Ugh ok how hard is it to drop the oil pan and put some rtv on it? Should i wait on changing my oil then?

Just get it cleaned up good with some Simple Green, and find out where your leaks are coming from. Then go from there.

You should always change your oil and filter if it needs it... regardless of any leaks.

Is there anything else i have to remove out of the way besides the downpipe for a gst? It looks like thats the only thing that will get in the way.

i dunno if the GST's have a subframe that gets in the way like the AWD but if so that is also something that might need to be removed.

like stated just remove the subframe. While it's out clean all the built up gunk off of it if it has any. remove the downpipe and wipe everything down really well once you place the pan back on. I've gone as far as after cleaning and re-installing to rubber band a paper towl around it and shows exactly where it comes from.

My oil pan and oil return line were leaking a few months ago. Very simple fix, just remove the nuts holding the downpipe, and all bolts holding the oil pan. I would also remove the oil return line and use RTV for both the pan and the return line. After it's all said and done, let the RTV dry before adding oil, just a practice that's always good to do.

Note, don't use RTV on your turbo drain, they come with gaskets for a reason. Only RTV the pan.
