I have been searching for 3hrs and cant find any response, I am rebuilding my head and ordered new SS valves from engblder. My machinist wants to do a valve job on it, the guides are staying stock. i know the guide height is suppose to be 19.5mm, but cant seem to find the measurement for valve stem height so he can properly trim the valve stem.

Found it in a PDF repair guide for every ones future reference
Valve length mm
Intake valves 109.5-109.0
Exhaust valves 109.7-109.2
Valve stem projection mm
Intake valves 49.2-49.7
Exhaust valves 48.4-48.9

Your machinist should have that info in his AREA Data,

If he does not, you will want to find a better machinist

Bringing this back from the dead, but only as a last resort. I've been trying to find what the standard valve tip height is but all I have found is "make sure it's set", "make sure it's measured", etc. and others asking the question but the thread either getting derailed or never even responded to.

Are the numbers posted here correct for a 4g63 1g head?

Just picked up my head from the machine shop. I was wondering if there was as a concensis on the subject so I did a search and found this thread. My head is off a 92 Evo 1 so there was some debate about the correct length based on year. There are three specifications. 89-92 93-99 and 92-94.

My machinest set them to 1.940 for intake and 1.930 for exhaust. There is a range for them both from I think 1.900-1.950. I'd have to call and ask what the other lengths were for each year range. He set mine for the 93-99 as the head on my 92 Evo looks nearly the same as a 2g head. Also the spec for the 89-92 is considerably different than the other two.
